Children removed from alleged meth house

COVINA - Following the raid of a suspected Covina meth manufacturing house that resulted in two arrests, officials returned to the home early Thursday to arrest another person and remove three children from the home.

Shavon Banta, 22, was booked on suspicion of child endangerment, Covina police Lt. Scott Pierson said.

Banta's children, an infant and a toddler, were placed in the custody of the county Department of Children and Family Services, Detective Tim Statler said.

Banta and her children lived at the home in the 100 block of South Delay Avenue along with Matthew Cloutman Sabatino, 30, and Tanya Marie Ray, 21, who arrested at the home Wednesday on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine for sales, police said.

An adolescent, a brother of Ray who was visiting from out of town, was removed from the home but was not placed in the custody of child services officials, Statler said   Read Full Article...
