WHITE OF THE WEEK: Kunde Estate Chardonnay, 2006 ($17.99)
Containing hints of apple, peach, roasted nut, lemon peel and honeysuckle, this Sonoma wine is notable not only for its flavor, but for its sustainable growing methods. Its growers have received the Governor's Award for environmental and economic leadership for their environmentally friendly practices. The wine has a nose of bread and vanilla, giving it a homey feel. It pairs well with green salad, grilled fish, chicken and tofu.
RED OF THE WEEK: Bouchaine Pinot Noir, 2006 ($38.99)
This full-bodied pinot starts with a fresh, earthy aroma and a hint of dark cherries. It has a dry finish that goes well with braised beef, seared wild salmon or grilled tempeh. Bouchaine Vineyards is another environmentally aware vineyard. Dylan Little
