AeroVironment announces earnings
AeroVironment Inc. announced its fiscal year 2010 third-quarter results Tuesday. Revenue was $60.9 million, up 17 percent from third quarter fiscal 2009's $52.2 million. The increase in revenue was primarily due to higher sales - $11.7 million - in the company's Unmanned Aircraft Systems segment. That was offset partially by lower sales from its Efficient Energy Systems segment of $3.1 million.
The company also announced last week that it appointed Tom Herring as senior vice president and general manager of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems segment and John Grabowsky as its first chief technology officer, a role that will span the company's UAS and Efficient Energy Systems business segments.

His retirement will become effective at the company's next annual meeting, April 22. Kresa, a chairman emeritus of Northrop Grumman Corp., has been a director since 1999.
