Angels rally for another win over Red Sox

ANAHEIM - Angels manager Mike Scioscia keeps saying he doesn't believe in regular-season games or series making "statements."

Too bad - the past two games would make a pretty loud one.

One night after pounding the Boston Red Sox for 11 runs and 14 hits, the Angels rallied for four runs in the seventh inning against Red Sox ace Josh Beckett and beat the Red Sox 4-2 Saturday afternoon at Angel Stadium.

The Angels have now won four out of five against the Red Sox this season (two each in Boston and Anaheim) after being swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Sox last fall.

They have not won the season series from the Red Sox since 2001 but now need just one victory Sunday or in their three-game series at Fenway Park later this month to end that streak.
