BGCGN sits at 3-0 in MVC
The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua wrestling travel team improved to 3-0 on the season with Merrimack Valley Conference dual meet wins over Melrose (Mass.) and Chelmsford (Mass.) last weekend.
The BGCGN squad is selected through competitive wrestle-offs in 16 weight classes held weekly between youth wreslters from BGCGN's three at school squads - Elm Street, Fairgrounds and Pennichuck Middle Schools, the Nashua Catholic Junior High team, and the BGCGN youth (K-5th) grade team.
Nashua topped Melrose 82-12, and edged Chelsmford 37-33.
Eight Nashua wrestlers scored victories in both meets: Kevin Melanson (Pennichuck, 77 pounds), Cameron Bennett (Elm St., 82), Ryan Rice (Pennichuck, 87) Marcel Laplante (Nashua Catholic, 92) Jake Valeri (Fairgrounds, 97), Zack Seppi (Fairgrounds, 122), Joe Chimelski (Nashua Catholic, 140) and Evan Manns (Nashua Catholic, 170)
