NASHUA - Greater Nashua hasn't been the safest place for certain Acura and Honda car models over the past year, and police want to know who's responsible.
Eleven Acura Integras and Honda Civics have been stolen, stripped of their parts and dumped in Nashua over the past year. Three more were taken in Nashua and disposed in Massachusetts, according to Nashua police Sgt. Denis Linehan.
Police have been close to potentially cracking the case, but, so far, not close enough.
Linehan, head of the department's Problem Oriented Policing unit, said his unit began investigating the string of thefts in late October. Most of the cars have been taken from in and around Nashua, stripped of their valuable parts and then dumped at two locations in the city, he said.
One of the dump sites is off East Hollis Street and the other is off Amherst Street in the city's North End. Three other cars stolen in Nashua were stripped and then dumped in Lowell and Methuen, Mass., Linehan said
