An NCAA investigator could arrive at USC as soon as next week to examine charges involving former Trojans basketball player, O.J. Mayo, according to sources within the organization.
"We'll be engaged in it," a source said. "We're involved and could be there next week."
USC and the Pacific-10 Conference are also going to be involved in the investigation.
Mayo, 20, is accused by a former confidante of taking $30,000 in cash and gifts from a sports agency.
Louis Johnson claimed Mayo received the money from his mentor, Rodney Guillory.
Johnson claimed Guillory received around $200,000 from sports agent Bill Duffy, who eventually signed Mayo. Duffy denied the charges.
Mayo also denied the allegations.
"I know for a fact that I haven't accepted anything," Mayo told the Los Angeles Times. "My family hasn't accepted anything, so I'm just waiting for the NCAA to do what they have to do to prove that I haven't done anything wrong
