Bruins switch it on at just the right time - Collison, Holiday turn the pressure on WSU; rival USC is up next

Maybe it was the switch to turn off the lights when UCLA left Pauley Pavilion, or maybe the one in the hallway leading to the Bruins' locker room inside spacious Staples Center.

Heck, maybe the Bruins flicked on the same switch that Washington State turned off a weeks back.

Wherever that switch is located, UCLA believes it found the strength to flip it in its favor at the most meaningful time.

The second-seeded Bruins played inspired and energetic, putting forth one of its best defensive performances in months en route to an easy 64-53 victory over seventh-seeded Washington State in Thursday's quarterfinals of the Pacific-10 Conference Tournament.

"If there's any team that will hit that switch, it will be PHOTO GALLERY UCLA vs. Washington, 3/12/09 us," senior guard Darren Collison said. "We have the experience. We have the talent.
