ANTELOPE VALLEY

Donations needed for children's camp

LANCASTER - The Lancaster sheriff's station is asking the public to donate items needed at the Painted Turtle Camp in Lake Hughes.

The camp, which serves children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, needs flushable baby wipes, nonlatex Band-Aids, alcohol-based hand sanitizers, insect repellant (containing at least 30 percent DEET), camphor-free lip balm, and Wal-Mart gift cards.

The collection drive will run through May 17, and items can be dropped off at the station's front desk. For more information, call Deputy Michael Rust at 661-940-3832.

College to present `Tumbleweed Revue'

LANCASTER - Antelope Valley College's Theatre Arts Department will present "The Tumbleweed Revue" at 8 p.m. today in the AVC Black Box Theater, 3041 W. Ave. K.

The show will feature singers, comedians, dancers, storytelling, magic, poetry reading and a xylophone.
