Five burning questions

1. Which of the area's two undefeated teams, Crescenta Valley or Simi Valley, will last the longest in the playoffs?

Although Crescenta Valley of LaCrescenta competes in Div. III and Simi Valley is in Div. I, the Pioneers appear to be in position to advance

the furthest. Not only does Simi Valley (27-0) have a first-round bye, but the Pioneers don't have Hart of Newhall, Norco, Santiago of Corona or Valencia in their quarter of the draw.

Crescenta Valley (26-0) could face Highland of Palmdale, which features standout freshmen Alexis Cason and Aryn Feickert, in the second round, and then might have to face Oak Park and Purdue-bound talent Julia Rice - the division's top pitcher - in the quarterfinals.

2. Will Hart and Valencia meet again in the Div. I championship game?
