A. gasoline price falls again; Orange County price unchanged

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County declined six-tenths of a cent today to $2.989, the lowest since Dec. 31.

The average price is 2.9 cents less than both a week ago and a month ago but 86.4 cents more than this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price has fallen eight of the past nine days.

The Orange County average price was unchanged after falling seven of the past eight days. The average price of $2.982 is 3.3 cents less than both a week ago and a month ago but 86 cents more than this time last year.

"Fortunately, drivers are seeing some relief from the second-highest gas prices we've ever had at the beginning of the year -- 2008 was the most expensive year ever," Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California said   Read Full Article...
