Odds and ends from around the Valley:
First off, I want to thank all the readers who sent me get-well cards and left phone messages hoping I was doing OK after back surgery.
It's nice to know you're missed and that people care.
I'm doing fine now thanks to Encino surgeon Tony Feuerman, who spent a couple of hours in an operating room at West Hills Hospital working his magic to remove a piece of disc that had broken off and lodged itself on some nerve endings.
He swore the operation was a piece of cake, but I think he was just trying to talk me off the ceiling in the recovery room.
I'd also like to thank the nurse who helped me get up and walk around after surgery, discreetly closing off that breeze blowing up my gown.
Whoever designed hospital gowns with those ties in back had to have a sick sense of humor.
Anyway, I'm back
