CARSON -- A Burbank woman was shot to death Wednesday in Carson, and detectives sought her estranged husband in the killing, police said.
Veronica Reyes, 30, of Burbank, was shot as she arrived at her workplace in the 900 block of East 233rd Street, deputies with the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.
Reyes died at the scene of the shooting. It was unclear when the killing occurred, but the body was found about 8:30 a.m.
Carlos Reyes, 29, of San Pedro, is wanted in the killing, sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht said.
"It apparently is the result of a domestic dispute," sheriff's Lt. Dave Coleman told KCAL9. "The suspect, we believe, is her estranged husband. He's still at large."
As the woman was parking her vehicle, the shooter apparently pulled alongside and opened fire with a pistol, Hecht said.
Carlos Reyes' car was found several blocks west of the crime scene, deputies said.
Reyes is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes
