STEVENSON RANCH - A 21-year-old Stevenson Ranch man faces four felony counts after trying to choke his mother, holding a knife to her throat and hitting her on the head with his cell phone earlier this week, deputies said.
John Willett was charged Wednesday with assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, battery and battery on a peace officer, said Lt. Brenda Cambra, spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station.
The charges stem from an alleged violent altercation Monday afternoon after Willett and his mother argued about his friends coming over to their home in the 25500 block of Burns Place in Stevenson Ranch.
Willett hit his mother on the head several times with his cell phone, Cambra said.
"He throws her on the floor and begins to choke her by putting his hands around her neck and squeezing," Cambra said.
He kicked and punched her before walking to his room, she said
