CASTAIC - The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's annual Fun in the Sun Chili Cookoff will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jack Bones Equestrian Center near the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic. Proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics in Santa Clarita and the Heads Up - Therapy With Horses program. The event will include live bands, an antique-car display, equine demonstrations, military displays and cow chip bingo. Chili cards will be sold for $5 at the event, which entitles the buyer to taste the chili cookoff entries. Other food vendors will be available. To get to the venue, take northbound Interstate 5 to the Parker Road exit. Turn right on Castaic Road South, continue half a mile to Tapia Canyon Road, and follow the signs to the event. http://dailynews.com/news/ci_10311975   Read Full Article...
