SALT LAKE CITY -- Something happened to the Lakers inside. Something unexpected, that seemed almost foreign.
Something that requires a dramatic turnaround this afternoon, or a series the Lakers seemed calmly in control of will threaten to become the battle of their little postseason lives.
The Lakers were all but dominated inside in Friday's Game 3. Lamar Odom retreated, Pau Gasol shrunk and the Lakers fell for the first in these playoffs.
In Friday's loss to the Jazz, Odom got off three official shots. Aside from rebounding, he seemed a minor factor.
Gasol looked like he was playing with a wet ball, seemed frustrated and was generally a shadow of the player the Lakers had grown to know.
The Lakers who had been moving the ball so effectively during their early playoff run, stalled offensively. Held the ball too long. Reverted to watching Kobe Bryant go one-on-one, if somewhat out of desperation.
For the first time in about a month, the Lakers became almost unrecognizable
