SALT LAKE CITY - Derek Fisher's 19-foot jump shot hit nothing but net 17 seconds into his playoff return at EnergySolutions Arena. He dribbled into the left corner Friday night and launched his familiar left-handed jumper.
Swish.
The Lakers were off and running.
Then, just as suddenly, they were sputtering and out of control with the ball.
Fisher went to the bench after picking up his second foul only 2:53 into the game. Jordan Farmar replaced him and the Lakers' offense suffered.
They couldn't maintain an early eight-point lead.
"They got after us early in the first quarter, after Fish got his second foul," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "I thought Jordan was off his rhythm with Fisher out of there (so early). He never got himself really back in the ballgame."
Farmar was scoreless on 0-for-6 shooting. Fisher scored 13 points on 3-for-6 shooting
