SALT LAKE CITY - Trevor Ariza will seek a third opinion on his broken right foot, coach Phil Jackson said before the Lakers faced the Utah Jazz in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal playoff series Friday night.
Ariza has been sidelined since January, and CT scans of his foot indicated he's not entirely healed. However, it's possible that Ariza could return in time to play during the series against the Jazz, Jackson said.
"I still have optimism," Jackson said. "The second round is a long way from being over. We can only hope we had the same kind of success in the last round, but we certainly can't count on that."
The Lakers know the series against the Jazz will go at least through Wednesday after losing 104-99 on Friday.
Ariza got a second opinion on his foot Friday, which led the Lakers to seek a third opinion as a sort of tiebreaker. There's no date yet scheduled for the exam
