SALT LAKE CITY -- So what, you wanted perfection?
Dared dream of an unbeaten postseason? Of a team that only grew in stature by the game? That Pau Gasol would never have an off-game?
Welcome to Friday night in Utah. Where the Lakers were a whole lot less than perfect.
Where so many things that had been going right suddenly pulled a disappearing act.
And where the Lakers tasted their first bitter defeat of this postseason, falling 104-99 to the Utah Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena, where as advertised, it was so loud several fans wore earplugs.
To its credit, the Jazz certainly was a different team from the one beaten twice back at Staples Center.
Pounded the ball inside to Carlos Boozer, who responded with his finest game of this postseason. Consistently found Mehmet Okur open beyond the 3-point line. Saw point guard Deron Williams look aggressive and at home.
To the Lakers' credit ... we'll get back to you on that one.
