The Lakers handled their opponents with remarkable ease through the first sixgames of the playoffs, rarely appearing tentative in any way. Six games played, sixgames won, and with hardly a threatening moment in any of them.
Then things went haywire.
The Utah Jazz ended the Lakers' winning streak and dented their invincible aura with a 104-99 victory in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal playoff series Friday night at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Lakers lead the best-of-7 series, two games to one. They had won 10 consecutive games, including their final four regular-season contests.
Game 4 is Sunday afternoon, and the Lakers have plenty of work to do between now and then if they hoped to regain their momentum and their swagger. Playing a more complete game would seem to be atop their to-do list at practice today.
The Jazz raised the level of their play after dropping the first two games.
Now, it's the Lakers' turn.
