EL SEGUNDO - Lakers coach Phil Jackson probably won't pull a Gene Hackman before the team's shootaround this morning in Salt Lake City.
Jackson probably won't take a tape measure from his pocket and demonstrate that the basket is still 10 feet off the floor and that the free-throw line is still 15 feet from the hoop, just as it is on the Lakers' home court at Staples Center.
But he might have a few inspirational words on how to play in an arena that can be as intimidating for visiting teams as Butler University's Hinkle Fieldhouse must have been for the players from fictional Hickory High School in the 1986 film "Hoosiers."
"One of my favorite movies growing up was `Hoosiers' - the basket is 10 feet high, no matter where you go," Kobe Bryant said, breaking into a wide smile before the Lakers left for Utah on Thursday afternoon.
The Lakers lead their Western Conference semifinal series against the Jazz, two games to none, with Game 3 tonight at the EnergySolutions Arena
