Galaxy fade in a New York minute - SOCCER: L.A. ties game late but falls asleep and the Red Bulls respond quickly.

The Galaxy played a team named after an energy drink Saturday, but maybe they needed to take one instead.

The New York Red Bulls defeated the Galaxy, 2-1, before 27,000 at the Home Depot Center because L.A. fell asleep at the worst possible moment.

While the Galaxy were still giddy after tying the game in the 77th minute, the defense experienced a major lapse a minute later and allowed former Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel to get past the back line and fire home the winner.

That was enough to send the Galaxy below .500 (2-3-1) for the season, a poor start for a team that played four of its first six games at home.

The stats told the story. It took the Galaxy two minutes to get their first shot on goal and another 75 to get their second.
