Stunned after dropping the first two games of their opening-round Stanley Cup playoff series with the Dallas Stars on home ice, the Ducks left town Sunday thinking in small terms.
"A starting point for us is to win a period, win the next period," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "That's what we have to focus on, and carry on from that."
With Games 3 and 4 set for Tuesday and Thursday at American Airlines Center in Dallas, the Ducks believe it is in their best interests not to look too far ahead.
"It sounds boring, but we're not worrying about the two games," veteran defenseman Sean O'Donnell said. "We're worrying about playing a good first period Tuesday, trying to get that first goal and then we'll go from there.
"We know we're in a tough situation. That team's playing well. They're very confident. We just have to play with the same road style and the same hunger that they've played. We all understand the hole we're in. You lose two at home ..
