ANAHEIM - After Thursday's morning skate, both the Ducks and Dallas Stars players slipped into a new set of black T-shirts, emblazoned with an inspirational slogan that seems to have become de rigeur for a Stanley Cup playoff team.
Injured at the outset of last year's Stanley Cup playoff run, Ducks forward Todd Marchant designed a set of shirts for the team that read "Destiny is heart, sacrifice and passion." A new word was added for each round of the playoffs.
This year the word is "FOCUS," with each letter spelling out a different word: Faith, Opportunity, Courage, Unselfishness and Success. Marchant's new design has taken nothing to chance - each word was already spelled out before the first round began.
The Stars have a new set of shirts, too, featuring the words "Think Pack."
"We just try like a pack of wolves to stick together, do everything together, work together," Stars defenseman Nicklas Grossman said. I think that sums up the season for us
