ANAHEIM -- It's a small miracle Teemu Selanne is in the Ducks' clubhouse at all these days, given the trademark smile he wore walking golf courses last summer and fall. Now that spring has arrived it seems the once-Mighty Duck never left even though, in fact, he wasn't under contract until late January.

After a recent practice, Selanne talked nonchalantly about his progress since making that fortuitous decision to come back. He flashed a wry smile when asked if Scott Niedermayer's return a month earlier had anything to do with his own.
