ANAHEIM - For the Ducks, it was nice to see slapshots on net traveling three-quarters the length of the ice Sunday, a sure sign that Chris Pronger was back in the lineup.
It was nice to see the team amp up its effort in a situation that scarcely demanded it - trailing 2-0 late in a meaningless third period - to wrench out a 3-2 shootout victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.
More than anything else, it was refreshing to know that after two lazy games to close out the regular season, the Stanley Cup playoffs have arrived once again.
"Call it the new season, whatever you want to call it, but everybody starts with a clean slate," Pronger said after his first game back from an eight-game suspension. "Everybody starts with zeroes, and you've got to get to 16 (wins)."
