The bad news for the JetHawks came in the form of a 5-0 loss Sunday at home to Inland Empire and watching the 66ers sweep the three-game series in the process.
The good news: Despite their shortcomings, the JetHawks still find themselves one game back in the California League standings, after Lake Elsinore was swept in Modesto.
Lancaster's offense put runners on base in seven of the nine innings but only got one runner as far as third base. They went 0-7 with runners in scoring position Sunday.
The Dodgers' Jason Schmidt made quick and tidy work of his first rehab start, throwing 12 pitches in a perfect inning of work for Inland Empire. He threw 10 fastballs, topping out at 88 mph, and mixed in two changeups.
Schmidt, who has been out since shoulder surgery last summer, is expected to spend a full 30 days on his rehab assignment.
