Lakers rout Clippers, turn attention to Hornets

Trying to figure out exactly how good the Lakers are couldn't be gleaned from their meeting with the Clippers.

Perhaps everyone will find out that gauge tonight.

The Lakers blasted the Clippers with a 106-78 blowout victory Thursday night at Staples Center. But the Lakers quickly turned their sights to tonight's meeting with the top team in the Western Conference - the New Orleans Hornets.

"In most games, you have to stop penetration," coach Phil Jackson said. "With the ball in Chris Paul's hands, you have to especially stop that penetration."

In contrast to Paul, an MVP candidate, the point guards the Lakers faced against the Clippers were Dan Dickau and Smush Parker.
