Dragons foil Avengers' plans with interception

Monty Montgomery intercepted L.A. Avengers quarterback Sonny Cumbie with 2 seconds remaining to send the New York Dragons to a 52-48 win over the Avengers on Saturday night in an Arena Football League game at Staples Center.

Dragons quarterback Aaron Garcia was 21-for-35 for 208 yards and six touchdown passes with two interceptions. Montgomery also returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown in the second quarter for the Dragons (6-4).

Jason Willis had nine catches for 127 yards and four touchdowns and Kevin Swayne added five catches for 38 yards and two touchdowns.

Tim Hicks was intercepted on the Avengers' first two drives. Defensive back Billy Parker returned the first interception 20 yards for a touchdown.

Hicks finished 10-for-21 for 61 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions and was pulled in favor of Cumbie. Cumbie was 13-for-20 for 134 yards and three touchdowns with one interception   Read Full Article...
