Today is national signing day for prep football players to make their college scholarships official, and there's a good chance USC could land the Valley area's two top uncommitted recruits, defensive back Dietrich Riley of St. Francis of La Ca ada Flintridge and tight end Christian Thomas of Highland of Palmdale.
Both are scheduled to announce their decision today on national television.
Riley has been wavering between USC and UCLA, though others - including Notre Dame - are in the picture. Most expect Riley to sign with the Bruins, but ESPN recruiting expect Greg Biggins isn't so sure.
"I think right now Dietrich wants to go to UCLA, but I also think USC has always been his dream school - and when it comes down to it, it's tough for a kid to say no to his absolute dream school," Biggins said. "Everyone on both sides thinks it's UCLA, but I think USC has a shot. It's those two and no one else
