Changing their tune - New CDs feature video-game soundtracks

Mention "soundtrack" and you might start humming a couple bars from "The Sound of Music" or a snippet from "Camelot."

But a new kind of CD has cracked the Billboard charts and is attracting a new generation of listeners. "Video Games Live, Volume One," produced by EMI Classics, highlights the concert tour that features the music of wildly popular games such as "Myst," "Halo" and even "Tetris."

The album was launched in the U.S. in late July, and debuted at No.10 on the Billboard classical crossover chart.

"The whole goal of the concert is to create a way to expose a new generation of ticket holders to get them back into major concert halls," said Laurie Robinson, who with husband and business partner Emmanuel Fratianni composed the "Halo" and "Advent Rising" tracks.
