ANAHEIM - Nick Adenhart got his first major-league victory Monday while Vladimir Guerrero got the assist.
So what is the reward for a kid who finally breaks through on the major-league level?
The Angels sent Adenhart back to Triple-A Salt Lake after the 10-7 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Since Adenhart would have been sent down anyway when John Lackey returns Wednesday, the early move lets the Angels get some help for the bullpen. Jose Arredondo was recalled.
But for one night anyway, Adenhart can bask in the glow of a big-league victory and know that he got the best of White Sox ace Mark Buehrle.
It still wasn't easy to snap a four-game losing streak, even with the Angels' rare offensive outburst, as Francisco Rodriguez had to get the final two outs for his 15th save in 16 chances. He struck out A.J. Pierzynski looking to end it to the delight of what was left of the crowd of 38,723
