CARSON - One game, one goes home. We know that much about the Chivas USA-Galaxy match Sunday at Home Depot Center.
After a wild 2-2 draw in the opening leg of the home-and- home first-round playoff series last Sunday, the teams are bracing for anything - including those dreaded penalty kicks that could decide someone's season.
If the score is tied after 90 minutes, the teams will play two 15-minute overtime periods. If its still tied, get your goalies ready.
The possibility nags at the sensibilities of soccer players, who would rather run 'til they drop to determine the result. Good luck finding someone who would like to see it decided by a shootout.
"I don't think there's one person that would tell you they do," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. "You can have a replay, I would think. No one's going to do that. It's not feasible - you could be replaying a number of games. You could go back to the old format where you just keep playing, which is difficult
