Prompt action needed

The editorial "Group home raises issues" (Jan. 20) left me absolutely appalled and outraged. To think that the rights of individuals with violent records and mental health problems serious enough to warrant a "not guilty by reason of insanity" verdict were elevated above the rights of law-biding citizens living nearby is irresponsible at best, and criminal at worst.

To hear that the nearby law-enforcement officials had no idea of the situation is beyond my ability to understand. And then finding that three San Bernardino County behavioral health employees disrupted the crime scene and removed evidence!

I hardly know where to begin to define my level of horror.

Without a doubt, individuals with mental health problems can absolutely lead productive lives and contribute positively to their community. With proper support and supervision, many can successfully re-enter society   Read Full Article...
