During my many years as an immigration-reduction activist in which I have closely monitored media coverage of the immigration issue, I don't believe I've ever come across a journalist who appreciated the gravity of the struggle between rule-of-law advocates and those who oppose enforcement of our immigration laws and ridicule American sovereignty.
But reporter Stephen Wall is to be commended for acknowledging that the growing turmoil over our immigration policy will eventually determine what this country will end up looking like and what it will mean for future generations of Americans and legal immigrants alike. In his Jan. 23 story, "Words become touchy subject in war over illegal immigration," Mr. Wall notes, "With so much at stake in the fight over the nation's future, words can't be tossed around lightly."
