After carrying the Dodgers on his back all night, it's no wonder Andre Ethier wanted a cycle.
Ethier drove in five runs in his first fourat-bats and ended the night with fivehits as the Dodgers won Round 1 of their National League West showdown with a 7-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Dodgers' sixth consecutive victory moved them within a half-game of the Diamondbacks in the division.
For the red-hot Ethier, it was simply business as usual. He had a home run, single and two doubles in his first four trips to the plate and got caught thinking triple on his second two-base hit.
In the sixth inning, Ethier split the gap in right-center against reliever Jailen Peguero. Ethier started toward third base and his triple, but retreated and was thrown out to end the inning.
When he returned to the dugout a half-inning later, Ethier was teased mercilessly by his teammates, who were afforded the luxury of being giddy with such a big lead
