Many different traditions for Thanksgiving Day meal

In less than seven days many people will be stuffing themselves with turkey, and all the fixings.

For five years now I've been making the turkey and fresh homemade mashed potatoes at my household.

My mother is in charge of the stuffing and making stuffed grape leaves, green beans and rice.

Sure it's not your traditional Thanksgiving Day meal, but having those other two dishes is tradition to us.

That said, my mother is a little disappointed this year because I will spending Thursday working and covering many other Thanksgiving Day-related events.

It's not too bad, though; at least I won't be stuck doing the dishes.

This past Monday state Sen. Gloria Negrete McLeod talked to more than 90 Cecilia Lucero Solorio Elementary School fifth-graders about her job as a state senator.
