Sheriff John is convinced the key to his success as a lawman is his hat, which he guards with ferocity, even from his beloved wife, who is a bit miffed. The woman is a hat lover too, but hers feature fancy feathers, bright bits of cloth and the occasional fur. One ruckus-filled night John learns that it isn't the hat that makes the man.
It's so rare these days to see a story about the Old West, where the real men are true, tall and brave, and the bad guys always lose. This quaint little tale delivers a message, of course, that courage is found in the heart. Even children, perhaps especially children, regard their talismans (important toys, plush animals, polished rocks, dream catchers, etc.) as all-powerful.
