Carson uses relentless run game to take down Narbonne

The gauntlet was thrown down when Narbonne's Sean Parker returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown.

Carson's Dwan Gill answered with a 97-yard kickoff return of his own.

The duel was on between two powerhouse Marine League programs.

Eventually Carson's grinding running game overpowered Narbonne in a 41-28 victory Friday night in Harbor City, helping the Colts take control of the Marine League title race.

"Our coaches have been telling us all year about making plays and being playmakers," said Gill, who had a punt return for a score earlier this season. "That was the time to do it."

The Colts did it behind the ground attack of Dion Willis and Myles Johnson, who combined for 263 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
