The city of Lomita on Monday will recount the votes from Tuesday's municipal election that produced a tie between two candidates for the third and final City Council seat.
Council veteran Margaret Estrada and attorney James P. Thompson were deadlocked with 885 votes apiece after mail-in ballots and provisional ballots were counted Wednesday.
Former Councilman Tim King and James Gazeley were the top two vote-getters in the election with 1,039 and 961 votes, respectively.
