JOHN BOGERT: Supreme Court, battleships get readers writing

"I have nobody to write in government who cares so I now write you," wrote Betty Armstrong of Carson. "The Republicans always go on about activist courts and the activist judges. So now I know what they mean. That only applies to rulings that they don't like. But a Supreme Court controlled by conservative judges can reverse 100 years of law, including one sponsored by `liberal' John McCain, limiting corporations spending on campaigns and get away with it!"

Now, now, Betty. The court only recognized the free speech rights of corporations which, tragically and for so many years, have been denied the right to support with massive amounts of money the Republican of their choice.
